Our mission is to create a learning environment that focuses on success for all. In the process, we desire each writer will improve their ability to appreciate the art of poetry while dedicating themselves to the craft of poetry. We welcome poets in all stages of development. We encourage peer-to-peer commentary and critique as poets share their knowledge and experience. We strive to be a true community of poets helping each other by providing honest feedback, support, encouragement and inspiration.
Poem Online is one of the oldest and best poetry communities on the web. Learn to craft poems and get honest feedback from a very strong poetic community. Quality, never quantity, is our goal: Our desire is a member-base dedicated to perfecting the craft of poetry and interested in maintaining community spirit.
The Poetry Community
The poetry community here at Poem Online began in 1998 and is one of the oldest poetry communities online. Although, we have seen many changes over the years the focus has always remained the same. To bring poets together in an environment of learning.
Poets here are encouraged to critique each others work and offer suggestions for improvment. We have never been one of those feel good forums that will never let you know the truth about your poem. If our poets see a problem in your poem or have a different idea on how it can be written they will let you know. Do not expect someone here to just tell you it’s a great poem. If they do then it might just be a masterpiece.
